North Carolina Big Day 1987

The above intrepid “birders” at the end of a long day of birding from the Piedmont of North Carolina to the coast.  The event was May 3, 1987 and the group recorded 184 species for their efforts.  Above in photograph from left standing- Merrill Lynch, Ricky Davis, John Fussell, Allen Bryan and Derb Carter.  We are at Cedar Island after attempting to harvest another couple of species for the list.
