Twin-spotted Spiketail

The following male Twin-spotted Spiketail (Cordulegaster maculate) was observed and netted in Fluvanna County, Virginia.  They are an early season odonate that can usually be found in clear running streams in the woods to open areas.  The males and female course up and down the stream with routine frequency.
