On 11 December 2020, I discovered a Pink-footed Goose in amongst a flock of feeding Canada Geese in Charles City County, Virginia. This is a first state record for Virginia and the furthest south to date in North America that the species has been found. Both Arun Bose and Ellison Orcutt were able to observe the bird before it apparently got up with some of the flock and flew off per Ellison.
