White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

Identification: Deer vary in color from tan to brown, they have white at the base of the tail, on the throat and around the eyes and nose.

Fawns are reddish-brown at birth with white spots that assist in camouflaging them.

The female above is foot stomping due to my presence. White-tailed Deer do this to either intimidate or warn other nearby deer of possible danger.
