White-breasted Nuthatch

Identification: Identified by dark crown, white face, long upturned bill and slate blue mantle. While not always conspicous, they are also colored reddish brown at the vent. These birds as with other nuthatches forage uniquely by traveling both upward and downward on tree trunks, limbs, etc.
