Twin-spotted Spiketail (Cordulegaster maculata)
Identification: A large dragonfly, the thorax is brown with two lateral yellow stripes, the abdomen is brown to almost black dependent upon individual and has small paired yellow dorsal triangles/spots. The eyes are blue-green to gray-green and the male's abdomen appears slightly clubbed and the female has a fairly long ovipositor.
