Surf Scoter

Identification: On the adult male note the multicolored bill (orange, white and black) the white patch on the back of the head and the dark body. The female has a dark body, a white vertical patch at the base of the bill and a white patch on the side of the head lower and behind the eye. The birds will on occasion cock their tails vertically similar to Ruddy Ducks.
