Spine-crowned Clubtail (Gomphus abbreviatus)
Identification: Male- Note the two (2) stripes on the side of the throax, the anterior will be noted as incomplete in coloration although the suture is distinct, there is some gray between the two lateral stripes, the club has bright yellow sides (S8, S9), the face is yellow and note on the male the upturned cerci with spine and the upturned epiprocts.
Female- The female is similar to the male in having two (2) lateral thoracic stripes with the anterior being incomplete in black coloration and the two having a gray wash between them. The face is yellow and much yellow is observed laterally on S8, S9 and S10 has yellow dorsally.
