Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Identification: Female is white below and green above from crown down back and
including the center area of the tail. The tail extends beyond the wingtips and the outer
three feathers are tipped in white. This is the most commonly expected hummingbird in
the east but during the late fall/winter season it can be confused with the Black-chinned
Hummingbird and is best IDed in hand.
