Pomarine Jaeger

Identification: Note the stockiness of the bird, the barrel chest, the black cap to malar region, the heavy bill horned colored at its base and the broad wings.

One of three (3) Pomarine Jaegers observed during July, 1984 on Lake Townsend near Greensboro, North Carolina.

These birds represented the first documented inland record for the state.
