Lesser Black-backed Gull
Identification: Adult- Note the dark gray/black mantle, size
dependent upon sex slightly smaller than Herring Gull, yellow legs and the
dusky
streaking on head/neck (winter).
Juvenile- Dark colored mantle and wings with pale edges, dusky head and "black eye" smug, bill dark.
Adult- Nonbreeding Plumage - Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Virginia

Adult- probable 4th winter (note some black on bill)- Oregon Inlet, North Carolina

Adult- Nonbreeding plumage- Henrico County, Virginia
