Falcate Orangetip (Anthocharis midea)

Identification: A beautiful early spring butterfly with a black spot in the forewing of both the male and female. The male has a yellow-orange ptach at the tip of each wing. The hindwing of both the male and female from below demonstrates a blackish-brown marbling appearance.
