A pair of Cooper's Hawks were observed on April 10, 2006 in the City of Richmond, Virginia. On this date, the male was observed with prey in it's bill with the female flying up to accompany him, whereupon he presented the prey to the female and mating commenced. Subsequent to this date, I have both observed and heard the male several times but have not observed the female or found a nest.
