Common Spreadwing (Lestes disjunctus disjunctus) Identification: Challenging! After reviewing the males in the complex comparison of disjunctus, australis and forcipatus on line, my limted library and getting several authority's input I believe the below specimen is disjunctus disjunctus. The ID is currently based on the basal and distal teeth of the cerci, the paraprocts and the length of S2 to S3. The photographs below were taken in Highland County, Virginia on August 20, 2008.
